What dog training services are offered?
We provide specialised assistance dog coaching, behavioural interventions, foundation obedience, and animal-assisted learning programs for schools. We also offer reactive and aggression support in specific cases.
How is assistance dog training structured?
Training involves bespoke coaching to develop physical and emotional support skills, ensuring handlers gain independence through tailored one-on-one sessions. Every assistance dog program will be constructed around the clients specific needs after an initial meeting to assess client suitability and needs, as well as full assessment of dog suitabaility for the required role.
What are your pricing and session rates?
Pricing varies based on service type. Assistance dog programs are a set price, but additional costs may be required for any prior behavioural work that may required. Behavioural packages are quoted after an initial assessment of the dog and their specific needs.
Where do sessions usually take place?
We offer training in local Dundee parks for environmental work as well as home visits if required.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 48 hours notice for cancellations to ensure we can reallocate the specialized time slots to other clients and their canine partners.
Is distance coaching available?
While we primarily serve Dundee and surrounding areas, distance coaching and consultations are available upon request for those throughout Scotland.
Do you work with aggressive dogs?
Yes. We have extensive experience working with aggression, focusing on rehabilitation and controlled exposure for dogs of all ages.
Is my dog too young/old?
No. We advise starting training as early as possible. In most cases by the time pups are ready to get outside we will already have a foundation of fundamental behaviours. So long as your dog is physically fit and able to cope with training, we can teach an old dog new tricks no problem too.
What if I need to bring my kids along?
We actively encourage bringing kids along. If you are raising a puppy and have kids in the family, getting them involved in the training helps teach the puppies that they aren't just wee pals, but also little humans that they need to listen to and pay attention to.
I work random shifts, or I work away alot, can training still work?
Training can absolutely still work if your schedule is varied or difficult to manage at times. Every session you will leave with a set of homework steps to practice and implement, this is done at your own pace. Once you're ready to book back in and your schedule allows it, we book the follow up session to continue where we left off.
Will the dogs be certified assistance dogs?
The short answer is no, however in the UK there are legal protections in place for dogs trained for specific tasks such as emotional support, autism support, PTSD, or physical assistance duties. Any dog we train will be protected under these laws and will be trained to a comparable level.
